OBJECTIVES: To render pecuniary aid to its members, their families and beneficiaries of members and their families. To render mutual and assistance to its sick, disabled needy members and their families. To promote social and intellectual intercourse among its members and their families. To promote and conduct educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and welfare, and public relief work.
HISTORY
The History of the Barasoain Council No. 3817 will not be complete if we don't turn its pages some 28 years back when the nucleus of the now Barasoain Council, Knights of Columbus, were members of the Malolos Center. Malolos Center was organized on February 13, 1951 and on February 23, 1954 it became Council No. 3710, Knights of Columbus.
On October 22, 1953 after the Barasoain members have worked hard for the constitution of a Center here in Barasoain, Acting Grand Knight Francisco Panlilio of Manila Council No. 1000 gave his approval for the constitution of Barasoain Center. Under the exemplary leadership of Msgr. Jose B. Aguinaldo, Bro. Fortunato E. Limpo and several others, members were recruited from the parishes of Calumpit, Pulilan, Bocaue, Plaridel and Sta. Maria as a result on October 22, 1953, Barasoain Center was born.
The most important activity of the Center was the organization of the Daughters of Isabella, Our Lady of Carmel Circle No. 903. It was the third Circle organized in the Philippines and the first in Bulacan. It started with 51 members recruited within the period of three weeks. Activities were stepped up and Rev. Fr. George J. Willmann, Philippine Deputy, Knights of Columbus, after seeing that there was every reason for the elevation of Barasoain Center to a Council subject to the approval of His Grace, Archbishop of Manila, Rufino J. Santos, D.D. Luckily when the permit was sought by Msgr. Aguinaldo, a favorable reply was receive. From then on plans were made and executed for the inauguration for the Barasoain Council No. 3817 on May 30, 1954. The First Grand Knight was Judge Francisco S. Bernabe, followed by the ff: SK Fortunato E. Limpo ( 1955-1956), SK Teodoro Apdian (1956-1963), SK Osmundo Fernandez (1963-1964),SK Jose Yapciongco(1964-1965), SK Vicente Luciano (1965-1966), SK Bonifacio Lomotan ( 1966-1967), SK Francisco Del Rosario (1967- 68), SK Jose Mendoza (1968-72), SK Jose Ramos ( 1972-73), SK Teodosio Apdian (1973-75), SK Gregorio Villafuerte ( 1975-76).
